Hey, Lusation ... good to see you on the boards again. Hope all's well with you. Yeah ... the Myth of Liberal Media Bias is nothing but a construct of the poor sods who are stuck with drawing their judgements strictly on the basis of the observed evidence. Those unimaginative dupes are the same sort of folks who perceive there to be a liberal bias in the academic world too. After all, just because the evidence makes the case doesn't mean there's anything to it. Of course there are plenty of conservative media types and conservative academicians. You just don't see them, is all. They're there ... just ask any liberal. Of course, the task of pointing them out and naming them gets a little tough. I wonder why that might be.

IMO the perceived liberal bias in academia is a slight to conservatism.

Lusatian and I were discussing this on the phone a few hours ago.

Part of the conversation went kinda like this:

"To say that liberal arts fields are primarily liberal is kinda like saying that the military is largely conservative."

Just as is the perceived liberal bias in the entertainment industry Laughing

The conservatives really gotta get it together and remedy the situation. Mr. Green

Better looking AND smarter? tee hee

Actually to make conservatives look better I'd point at some fiscal careers.
