i read an advert today, saying that "you sleep better knowing it will be at your side protecting you...". what does sleep better knowing mean? do it has an origion or story with it? many thanks.

You cut up the sentence in the wrong place. It's: sleep better (because of) knowing (that) it will be at your side protecting you.
