What's your favorite adult beverage these days? Have you invented a cocktail lately?

Well... have you?

I'm presently drinking a cocktail of ginger ale, grapefruit juice, and vodka. If it doesn't exist already, then what should it be called?

So? What's your favorite adult beverage?

@tsarstepan,
Whisky and grapefruit isn't bad. When you feel the enamal peeling away from your teeth, you know you've had enough.

The favourite cocktail in Canada and me is a Caesar. Vodka with clamato(thinned tomato juice mixed with clam juice), celery salt and a garnish of pickled asparagus or fresh celery or pickled green beans, spiced with horseradish, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of tabasco or other hot sauces over ice. Yummy!

Just before I quit drinking, my fave was a pint glass of Southern sweet tea, over ice, with a double shot of spiced rum.

I'm liking Sambuca after a meal lately. I especially like the black sambuca.

White sambuca in an upright cordial glass with 2 coffee beans on the bottom.

@PUNKEY,
Do the coffee beans actually add any flavor to the drink?

I almost never drink at home but enjoy a cocktail (or two) or wine when I go out. Tonique Bar in New Orleans has two cocktails under their "sours" menu that are delicious. The Tru Kick and The Facheux are my favorites. They give descriptions of each of their many cocktails on the Menu. Hold your cursor over your selection for the ingredients.

@tsarstepan,
I have. In a tall glass add ice and one shot London gin, half a shot Pisang Ambon, two shots grapefruit juice, top up with lemonade (or sprite/7Up if outside UK)

@izzythepush,
I've devised a bastardized White Russian.

Milk, vodka, and Starbucks Cream liquor. Served chilled of course. I call it a White Muscovite.

@tsarstepan,
We're boycotting Starbucks due to tax avoidance. I've just poured myself 1 shot Calvados, half shot butterscotch liqueur and topped up with lemonade (US 7Up or Sprite) in an old fashioned glass.

@tsarstepan,
My good friend has lactose issues, so she makes her White Russians with soy milk. I cracked the joke the other night that "In Russia, lactose is intolerant of you" and made it come out of her nose.

@izzythepush,
Criminy, calvados desecration! Do you have a clue how precious a good calvados is?

Or, I suppose from your pov, how precious it isn't?

@ossobuco,
This is the cheap Calvados from Aldi. I wouldn't use the good stuff. Right now I'm on Poteen, Midori and orange juice. Just about to take a sip actually.

@tsarstepan,
I don't think I invented it, but I like what I call Creole Coffee.
Hot coffee, a spoonful of dark molasses and a shot of dark rum.

@izzythepush,
Ok, ok. You're in a different climate. A good glass of calvados could be big money back in the early eighties in L.A, if they had it. Thinking West Beach Cafe.
(so goes fame, nada online by anyone who knew it, now)

@ehBeth,
I'm a starbuckz non. I went there back in the eureka arcata area because that was one of the only places you could pick up the ny times. Time has passed and I'm over the NYT too. There were even then better places for coffee in that area.

Espiral Vinho Rose wine (chilled), green tea ginger ale, and a slice of lime, (Iced)

The wine is lightly sparkling and has a mildly icky beer like flavor so I decided to doctor it up with a few things I had a hand. Much better now. Razz

How about Green Rose for a cocktail name?
