I was curious because there seems to be an immediate butt-hurt level reaction by certain people whenever it's suggested that someone (white) is racist; and there is immediate defensive response, usually starting with something like "Why do you think _____ is racist?"
Asking why I care is a little off target - I don't care what you do, I'm just making conversation.

I said whenever someone white is suggested to be racist on this site, there are people who rush to the immediate, heated defense. I stand by my statement, and your opinion about what's misplaced is noted.

I'm not sure my reaction qualifies as "butt-hurt." But, you do realize that his first suggestion was that Baldimo was a "cracker," right? Now, I imagine there is a wide spectrum of reactions to the use of that particular term -- and personally, I don't especially mind being accused of being a cracker -- but what's interesting is what is intended by the one who uses the term. In MM's case, he meant "racist," and I only found that out by asking him why he was calling Baldimo a cracker.

Naturally, anytime the issue of race is involved on this forum, you are involved. I'm sure you're aware that I've noticed this, as I've noticed it many times in the past. As I've seen nothing to suggest Baldimo is a racist, and as he defended himself by pointing out his mixed marriage, I am curious why MM is calling him a racist. For example, does he think he's a racist for supporting Romney?

My "defense" was not "heated." What was "heated" was the reaction of those who rose to the defense of the person who accused the white someone of being racist. Did you notice that?
