In my history class where doing a DBQ, i've read the DBQ but still am kinda lost, anyway, i'm not asking for an answer but the right direction.

"To what extent was late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century United States expansionism a continuation of past United States expansionism and to what extent was it a depature"

Any help? Thanks

What's a DBQ? Sorry if that sounds flippant.

Anyway, when the teacher says expansionism, he or she is very likely talking about either expanding throughout the North American continent or expanding into more imperialist-type areas, such as, well, pretty much any US protectorate.

I'll give this some thought after you've answered Jespah's question. I have no idea what a DBQ is either.

DBQ
DBQ is a Document Based Question, we have Documents that we have to read to help answer the question, except, its kind of ask, how did expansionism change between 19th and 20th century or continue, and how did it depart.
