My gold fish seam scared of me

When i walk to my tank my two gold fish , one normal gold fish and one shubunkin in a tank made for two fish, hide under the filter and it seems like there scared of me also i think that they are one male and one female good this be to do with mating and them protecting each other ready for the female to laye eggs??? Please help!?!?
