How often does fever accompany a UTI in an adult female?

Thank you for the link.

One thing that disturbs me is the fact that you could have a fever and a UIT and the events not be related to each other.

Apparently, if bacteria reach the kidney, a fever may result. If no antibiotic is taken, the fever should persist, until the bacteria are destroyed by the human body's own defense system.

( I'm just speculating !)

or you'll end up in the hospital being prepped for surgery.

@Miller,
The antibiotic, if effective should stop growth of the pathogenic microbes and with time, the fever should be reduced ( if the patient is otherwise healthy).
