Downright lies can be concealed for great lengths of time.
For instance: I told u that my grandfather came from England.
How can u possibly know if that is a downright lie? He coud have been Swiss.
I might have tried to deceive u on that point.
U might patronize a merchant whose systematic deceptions augment his profits.
Those deceptions might remain un-detected for many decades or forever.
