He wrote good songs, and other people performed them better. However, if you look for wisdom in popular music, there's your problem right there. Leaving aside that people should think for themselves, pop music is more interested in the beat, making the lines rhyme and selling millions of copies than they are providing sound advice for living. Dylan was a prime hypocrite when it came to walking his talk.
