Hyphens and Caps?

Hi! Very Happy

Quick question:

What are the rules in regard to capitalizing hyphenated words in titles?

Such as:

"Video Game Mini-Manual"

That is, assuming mini-manual is indeed a hyphenated word. (I am not sure if it is or not, but let's just say it is for this example.)

Thanks!

Can't say for sure...
Harmonic,

I believe that you've got it right in your post.

Question: How small does a manual have to be to make it a "mini-manual"?

Cheers.

If it's the title of the publication then all the caps are correct, but if you were, let's say, only proposing what type of publication would be produced then the lower case would be more appropriate.

"Here are the two hundred copies of Harmonic's Revenge Mini-Manual."

==
"There will be a full instruction book as well as a mini-manual enclosed with the compact discs. The full color poster of Harmonic fighting off the hordes of Kraytinites is still being considered."

Harmonic, If we assume that "Mini-Manual" is hyphenated, then you've handled the capitalization correctly. However, Minimanual is correct. Or maybe a better word than "correct" is "preferred." Most prefixes are linked without hyphens to the words they precede. (True in the US.)

Ah, ok. Very Happy

The uh... minimanual... is a term I thought could replace that boring old "readme" file.

Thanks!

If you do that, replace readme with minimanual, I will kill you if you don't also insist that in the Help section if someone searchs for readme they find the minimanual. Got to remember you've got twenty-five years of readme users out there.....
