The owner of this site has lived many places around the world.
He also once taught english to people who didn't know it well.
This site is very much not restricted to those of us who post a lot in the u.s.

Of course I realize that; but I’ve noted over the years that each site develops a sort of “personality” in terms of who uses it most and what they discuss

For instance there’s one called “Ghana” which for some reason concentrates on the entertainment media though of course it runs the gamut elsewise

I've been on Abuzz as a foreigner. And joined here in 2002 ...
Additionally to what osso said: at that time when I joined(with just 50 members Wink ), more than 20% more non-English-mother-tongue-members Cool
