Hello!!
which of the the two sentences below is grammatically correct?
1. I would appreciate if you can attend the meeting.
2. I would appreciate if you could attend the meeting.

If the 1st one is incorrect, then could anyone mention why it is incorrect?

Wow Bubu, even as an erstwhile writer I couldn’t begin to address the highly technical grammatical implications, but both are colloquially ok
