@realjohnboy,
The Miz and I are on the road for meetings in Idaho Falls and Boise, with 450 cows waiting in Mackay afterward. Give us both the Niners tonight, please, and we'll get the rest of our picks in by Sunday morning. Thanks!

It sure is a bit of a facing. I have helped drive cows along lanes from the fields to be milked and 30 was a sufficient number to provide an inkling of what 450 must be like.

I did indeed mess up on JPB's score and I am curious to find out how I managed to do it. I will get around to fixing the standings later this evening.
AndyD's picks are in. He says he has selected a few upsets in order to make up some ground in the standings.
He chooses Sea, Az, Dal, Tbay, St L, NYG, Balt, Buff, Cle, NE, Oak, Pitt and Chi (28-7).
I still need picks from Liontamerx and Rhys.

@spendius,
Once long ago, I was part of a film crew in a bunch of stockyards. I had the best of it, since I've an extremely poor sense of smell. I loved those faces. Not so much the end process, though I like my steak once in a while. I preferred, natch, the farms where there were being raised.

@ossobuco,
One should bear in mind osso that if there was no steak eating there would be no places to raise the lovely moo-cows. We would run them off the land if we didn't find them useful.

Have you ever seen the back of a cow's ear close up?

@spendius,
Driving milk cows to be milked along country lanes is a hell of a lot different than driving beef cattle, especially cattle that have been allowed to graze on open land their entire lives.

The threat of no picks = no supper prompted Rhys to respond:
SF, Minn, Dal, NO, GB, Wash, Hou, Buff, Indy, NE, Oak, Pitt, Chi (27-24).

@mysteryman,
I have a pair of longhorns live up the road a piece.

I'd like to see spendius attempt to move them off their graze...

@Rockhead,
Me too.

We had - well, I hope they're still there - a lot of dairy farms in my area of Humboldt County - thinking of the roads around Ferndale and Arcata. Lovely sight. They're big on grass fed beef up there too.

Meantime, big trouble in the central valley area, with cattle ranchers of all sorts going bankrupt, a few committing suicide, due to a big pinch re cost of feed and too low pricing for them, especially milk. That was in the SF Chronicle a couple of days ago.

@realjohnboy,
There are quite a few choices I expect I may be sorry about, and that game is one of them.

The columnists are whining about parity..
