@spendius,
The spread represents the number of points the favored team would have to
win by. So if Panthers had won by a score of 24-21, they would have covered
the spread and anyone betting on them would have won the bet.

However, if they won by a score of 14-13, they would have failed to cover the
spread and so anyone betting on them would have lost the bet. Same if they
simply lost the game.

@The Smart Money,
Right. Thanks. The odds being 10 to 11/12 in every case.

We go on the goals. Which are split into 10. If a team is offered at 2.4-2.2, say, the punter bets up (buys) at 2.4 or bets down (sells) at 2.2. If they win 3--0 buyers win 0.6 of a unit stake. 3--1 and he loses 0.4. 4--0 he wins 1.6.

Buyers are 2.4 units of stake behind at the kick off. If the team concedes a goal they are 3.4 behind. Sellers are 2.2 in front at kick off.

The advantage of our system is that interest is maintained for the whole game whereas a one sided game, like the Giants' win, interest has evaporated for at least the last quarter with your system. Unless you're a dedicated fan like Tico is for the Cards.

@spendius,
It's ironic that you're telling him the odds given his signature. Razz

We agree on a lot of our picks in Week #3. We all like Pittsburgh over Oakland. Jespah alone has Minnesota and only Miz Cowdoc chooses Tennessee. There are 5 games in which we split 17-2, 16-3 or 15-4.
NE @ Baltimore, Atlanta @ San Diego are toss-ups and NYJ's @ Miami and Philadelphia are near toss-ups.
JPLosman is an agreeable player who is in step with the majority on every game. Liontamerx follows concurring on all but one game.
At the other extreme there are a number of players with 5 or 6 choices that differ from the majority.
Come Tuesday we will have the full standings, down to 3 decimal points through 3 weeks!

Patriots v Ravens about to start.
Patriots come in as the underdogs.
Lotta potential for serious fun.
