I'm seeing a few more Arizona believers out there.

Last time they went 3-0 to start a season was in the early 1970s.

@JPB,
ALL RIGHT! 20 players in for tonight's game. We split 14-6 for the Giants. George and Rhys are going for Carolina only because they never can bring themselves to choose NY.
I mentioned that the home team won 14 of 16 games last week. One possible explanation: the NFL is using substitutes due to a labor dispute. They may, unconsciously, tend to favor the more vocal home team crowd.

@realjohnboy,
I am also going to change one pick.

Please change my pick from Atlanta to San Diego.
I now think San Diego will win that game.

@realjohnboy,
RJB ... I'd like to change my pick in tonight's game to the Panthers.

Almost always a bad idea to change, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Thx.

@spendius,
You need to understand why George -- I mean The Smart Money -- would say that.

@Ticomaya,
As an observant Pats fan with a memory, something (following recent history trends) tells me it's generally a bad idea to bet against Eli. Making note of this for future. Cam still needs some seasoning too. He'll get there but Panthers team needs to improve around him.

Also, I'm making note about how GOOD teams resolve problems with key player injuries ... a good team with Playoff and/or SB intentions...fill in with high quality subs when the key players go down. Witness players Andre Brown (waived by five different teams and cut by the Panthers) and Barden. Also, said team has to recognize that talent, too.

Indeed.

The Giants were favored early but the loss of several key players shifted the
odds to the Panthers.

@The Smart Money,
Just so I have your terminology correct is this the situation?

Panthers began at -2.5. So anybody betting on them lost £31.50 at $ a unit stake? I expect that is right but I wish to make sure as I must admit I do have some difficulty with the productions of the US educational system which I presume is quite expensive. Even starting at +1 the loss was $28.

Our low scoring games require unit minimums of £10.

The idea that either game is more exciting that the other is plain silly to a sporting gentleman.

Do you do composite betting. Say-- 10 points for a TD. 1 point for a FG. 3 points for a 1st down, 2 for a 2nd and 1 for a 3rd. 1 point for every yard past the 10 yard line. (a 40 yd TD gets 30 on the yards and 10 for the TD). -5 for a yellow flag. -20 for a failed red. - the penalty imposed. -10 punting. - 50 for a sending off. The bookie puts a number up and the punter bets up or down on it.

You would be amazed at how exciting a 2-2 tie can be. Right to the wire.

@The Smart Money,
Have you noticed SM that you and I are being down thumbed by someone who needn't identify him or her self. I assume it is someone who views the game as we do knitting.
