Quote:

In a startling assertion almost buried in last night’s “On the Record” interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox News, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa indicated he has criminal charges in store for an ATF official implicated in the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” operation. Referring to “double-dipping” by former Assistant Director William Hoover [CORRECTION: should be "McMahon"--transcription error on my part--DC], hired by the J.P. Morgan financial services conglomerate while he’s on leave from ATF and awaiting retirement, Issa let slip with what should be considered a bombshell announcement, and a precursor for things to come.

“This is somebody who our reports said perjured himself before the Congress,” Issa charged. “We don’t understand why J.P. Morgan would hire somebody who’s lied to Congress, that will probably be referred for criminal prosecution.”.....

Do we want the issue actually resolved?

So long as this issue is a Sword of Damocles hovering over the administration, they are paralyzed on gun control, even more so when it comes to assault weapons.

It is the nature of politics that we will from time to time have Democratic administrations. Having an entire Democratic administration paralyzed on gun control from beginning to end, isn't really a bad thing.

Someday soon we'll have the Supreme Court rule that Americans have the right to have assault weapons. Until then, let's take full advantage of this issue and keep it slowly burning in the background until the end of the administration.
