I think learning Chinese is a pretty good thing.China has a long history, and the Chinese culture is also very attractive....
So you 've already got started? Is it difficult?
It is not too difficult ,there's no need to learn lots of tenses, the point is to pay more attention on pronunciation.
You would learn many aspects instead of tense.
Wow, I bet you could not type out a word in Chinese, because Chinese characters are difficult to write out.

Not that difficult la.. You can learn it well if u do want to learn Chinese..
And I think you can make friends with Chinese ppl..
I've been wanting to learn mandarin for some time now have any sug.? (My knowlegde in the language is superficial.)
Stay in China, work and live with Chinese ppl, and talk with em.. I am sure u can learn it well.. =)
lol thought about that too but doesn't seem like an option right now. You have any other options?
Take Chinese lessons in ur area if u have time.. =)
Nathan, why not go to universities in your area and make friends with chinese students. They would very much like to teach you Chinese while you could help improve their english.
Thats another option I would take but my sources are limited. Thanks though i'll keep in mind what you all have suggested.

learning Chinese is not difficult, I think you can learn it well.
If you're really interested in studying Chinese and would be able to go to China, there are plenty of universities and colleges that offer free Chinese lessons to English teachers. You might be able to find some job opportunities at Daves esl cafe which is an English teaching forum.
