There's your strawman.

Maybe you're the one who doesn't understand the term.

Correct attribution: The plan to leave Iraq was demanded by the Iraqis.

@DrewDad,
so, just out of the blue the Iraqis got together and formed a plan to kick the US out? How does that work exactly? Do you really believe that the US wasn't in the middle of it all negotiating, writing, rewriting and approving the whole thing?

* There, I fixed that for you.

Quote:
A straw man, known in the UK as an Aunt Sally, is a type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position

So, you DO know what a strawman is and have given a fine example. Thanks for not letting me down.

@McGentrix,
I think you need to look up the definitions of humor and satire while you're at it.

Apparently the 'developing' link on Drudge last weekend indicating a #1 status was in error but the film did move to #2 on Monday and is expanding into 1800 theaters:

I guess in terms of Republican math, #7 equals #2. Of course we can trust the Republican party to balance the budget, right? Rolling Eyes

@McGentrix,
When I first came to able2know, I didn't understand what the term meant because I have never heard of it. However, been here some time and I have since caught on.

No one said the plan to get out of Iraq was credited to Obama. What they said was a lot of the end result was not what the Bush administration wanted but they had to sign it anyway, because in the end, Iraq was not our country so Iraqis had the final say. We also said that Obama pretty much had to go along with the security agreement as well, so no credit for getting out. Pretty simple to understand.

Quote:
But the plan to leave Iraq, begun under Bush as well, is all Obama? It's crazy how the left manipulates stuff.

Since your premise was wrong in the first place your whole statement was a strawman argument.

Quote:
A straw man argument is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To "attack a straw man"...

@Irishk,
Keep in mind that IMDb is slow to update minor box office corrections that happen after the initial weekend box office intake assessment.

@tsarstepan,
It added over 600 theaters and made less money than the previous weekend. It might have a little bump this week with the Democratic convention but I'm guessing the 10 million listeners of RW talk radio have already gone.

Isn't that a little bit like Little Wee-Wee Jones trying to take on Joe Louis or something like that, Psychlochump?

@Phoenix32890,
Phoenix: Why not? Are you concerned that you might have to modify some long held ideas? It seems to me that a person who really wants to know what is going on, would want to hear all sides.

-------------------

Amazing that this could come out of your mouth, P, actually many of y'all's mouths.

Page four and no one has gone anywhere near the usa's Imperialism.

@Cycloptichorn,
Page six and there's been no mention of the USA's Imperialist tendencies. Except for Izzy's description of Honduras which everyone is avoiding like the plague, including "the USA isn't a terrorist nation", Cycloptichorn.

And here we are at the end and there's been no mention of the USA's Imperialist tendencies. Except for Izzy's description of Honduras which everyone avoided like the plague, including "the USA isn't a terrorist nation", Cycloptichorn.

Surprise, surprise.

One bright spot. It reminded me that Gob1 hasn't been seen for some time. Cy neither.
