@gungasnake,
Verrry interesting. I spoke with a friend of mine, who had a similar reaction. Only he, instead of thinking of Mao, thought of the man in the 2nd clip. Coincidence???

@Phoenix32890,
Don't know about you, but I don't see a whole hell of a lot of difference between the two videos.

For that matter, in the case of the one real Messiah there's ever been, you won't find anything in the New Testament about any sort of a Jesus Youth choir or marching order or anything of the sort; Jesus didn't seem to feel any sort of a need that kind of ****...

@Phoenix32890,
Did you think of Mao when you watched a similar song of praise by kids to Bush in 2006? If not, why not?

No, it's not a coincidence. But it is indicative of exactly what we are talking about - those who are pre-disposed to believe a certain narrative inevitably see supporting evidence everywhere they look.

That definitely that you have not the slightest idea about
a) Germany during the Nazi period,
b) what the Hitlerjugend has been.

@Phoenix32890,
I have been trying to find a youtube, but so far have been unsuccessful. Anyway, the kids sang praises to FEMA, Bush and congress over their response to Katrina. It was during the 2006 annual egg roll at the Whitehouse. (as opposed to some unknown teacher in a school classroom)

Quote:
To the tune of Hey Look Me Over, about 100 young children from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama sang:

Our country’s stood beside us
People have sent us aid.
Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade.
Congress, Bush and FEMA
People across our land
Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!

After the song, Mrs. Bush posed for photos with the kids, many of whom were wearing Katrina Kids T-shirts, despite the chilly rain.

@Walter Hinteler,
To be honest: something reminds me here a lot of the Nazi period.

I only scanned through the book and my knowledge about the film is by quotes, clips, and what film critics say.
It's very similar to what the Nazis did - with films "Jud' Süß" or "Der ewige Jude" [The eternal Jew](the latter explicitly named 'documentary', the first ' a documental movie').

@Walter Hinteler,
Yes, I did have the same thought.

I started to construct an analogy with a Jewish person as the leader who a group of (non-Jewish) people were just having a bad feeling about... a strong emotional reaction to. They didn't have anything against Jewish people, mind you, but this one guy sets off all kinds of alarm bells for them. Does he really value America or is he willing to sell it out for Israel? He seemed pretty greedy, pretty money-grubbing. Etc. (Not based on any evidence mind you, just conflations and gut feelings.)

I think this is true. People aren't going to choose for whom to vote based on a documentary. Is there any evidence that Moore's Farenheit911 swayed many voters in '04?

There actually is one big difference between the two pictures: the Chicago demoKKKrat fascists in this country and the third-world anti-colonialist scheme to take down the United States WILL be stopped.

@gungasnake,
Can you explain how someone can simultaneously be a fascist and an anti-colonialist?

@DrewDad,
The same way he and every other idiot Republican can't explain how Obama can be a socialist and a fascist (another insane and errant set of labels against our Democratic president). They clearly don't have the mental capacity to figure out that these two sets of ideological terminologies are diametrically opposite of each other.

The documentary is based on the book "The Roots of Obama's Rage."

Quote:
There is a documentary playing in theaters now titled 2016: Obama's America. This is a purely anti-Obama film and makes no pretensions of being otherwise. It is based on the book The Roots of Obama's Rage by Dinesh D'Souza, and the film features the author as the narrator of the story. He is also shown as an investigator/interviewer.

Quote:
D'Souza's The Roots of Obama's Rage rooted in lies

1. CLAIM: Obama "hadn't lifted a finger to help a destitute close relative," half-brother George
REALITY: George Obama is a community organizer, chooses to live among poor

2. CLAIM: Obama initiated financial, auto industry bailouts
REALITY: Both programs were begun under Bush

3. CLAIM: Obama started going by "Barack" to adopt his father's "African identity"
REALITY: Obama on name switch: "It was not some assertion of my African roots"

4. CLAIM: Obama's push for a "nuclear-free world" is evidence of his "anti-colonialism"
REALITY: If this is true, then Ronald Reagan was also "anti-colonial"

5. CLAIM: Obama "support[ed] the release" of the Lockerbie bomber
REALITY: Obama opposed Lockerbie bomber's release

6. CLAIM: The Obama administration "refuses to make the [Lockerbie] letter public"
REALITY: The administration posted the letter online months ago

7. CLAIM: Obama "time and again" called BP "British Petroleum"
REALITY: Not once did Obama say "British Petroleum"

8. CLAIM: Obama's comments on energy use were an attack on "neocolonial giant" America
REALITY: Bush made similar comments

9. CLAIM: Elena Kagan "kick[ed] military recruiters off campus"
REALITY: Military recruiters were never kicked off campus, as D'Souza acknowledges

10. CLAIM: Obama's memoir doesn't mention his father's alcoholism
REALITY: Obama referenced his father's drinking several times, as D'Souza later acknowledges

11. CLAIM: Obama, like his father, would support 100 percent tax rates for the wealthy
REALITY: Obama's tax proposals for the wealthy don't even approach 100 percent

12. CLAIM: Returned bust of Churchill was "ultimate insult to the English"
REALITY: Churchill bust was scheduled to return before Obama took office

13. CLAIM: Networks and newspapers "pretended not to notice" Wright's "incendiary comments"
REALITY: ABC broke the Wright sermons story, which was covered extensively by networks and newspapers

14. CLAIM: Obama supported Petrobras' Brazilian oil drilling to "reduce America's standard of living"
REALITY: Obama was not involved in Petrobras loan

15. CLAIM: Obama told Cuba, Venezuela they are "on an equal plane with the United States"
REALITY: Obama told American nations that partnership with the U.S. required acceptable behavior

But the plan to leave Iraq, begun under Bush as well, is all Obama? It's crazy how the left manipulates stuff.

Well, I certainly don't think the plan to leave Iraq was 'all Obama.' I will say that the right-wing criticized him heavily at the time for doing so.
