Hello)I have a question concerning the usage of some verbs in Progressive. May I use such verbs ( begin, appear, continue, finish) in Progressive. Thus is it correct to say - I am ending, I am beginning -or it is better to say -I begin, I finish? Please help me to clear this question)
@Ali na,
Can you give us more context, please. Some of these forms sound better with an -ing ending than others.
I am beginning work on a new project today.
I begin work on a new project today.
Both are correct, I prefer the second one, but that is just me.
He will appear in the lead role in two productions.*
He will be appearing in the lead role in two productions.
He appears in the lead role in two productions.*
He is appearing in the lead role in two productions.
* My preferences.

@Joe Nation,
Context is all, like Joe said. If you were writing a letter you would say I begin or I finish, mainly because it sounds better.
@Joe Nation,
As for me, I prefer to say He will appear ( without ending), because when we add ending it sounds like it is going to happen. But if we take such an example when the action is taken in a particular moment? e.g. I was beginning to write a new book yesterday at 7 o clock or I was continuing my letter?
