Why can't I sent PM's?

This afternoon I was released from Hospital and sent a number of a2k friends a PM thanking them for their kind support. Suddenly I received the following message after trying to send another PM.

": "In order to prevent mass-message spam, we limit the amount of users you can send messages to. Please wait an hour before sending messages to additional members."

ok I can accept the reason for this message but I cannot accept "please wait an hour before sending messages to additional members" because that is a blatant lie!

I have now waited for over 8 hours and I am still prevented from sending any further PM's, despite having received 3 PM's from members since.

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. A couple of months ago after another spell in Hospital I had to wait over 24 hours before I was permitted to send further PM'S.

Can anybody tell me why the Powers to be of a2k made such a blatant misleading statement?

You should open up a customer service/maintenance/whatever thingy ticket and direct line this straight to the admins:

I don't think the message is basically a lie but clearly something technical is going wrong in the PM department. I never sent out more then one PM at a time so I never actually replicated the problem myself.

Got caught up in the same kind of thing here years old, I was just asking everyone I knew on the site the month of their birthday.

There's some noodle in the software that detects when you send out the same message
(what month is your birthday?)
to more than X people
~~(could be spam, could also be "Many thanks for your support)~~
doesn't matter to the bot---
you're stopped.

Send the folks a ticket, ask pretty please with sugar on top if you can start sending PMs

unlike a certain hothead who really pissed off the grand hamster and had to stew in purgatory for a long time.

Hi tsarstepan, Have done what you suggested, it is now over 14 hours and I can still not send any PM'S!

I'm pleased to say I had a satisfactory explanation from the A2K support team regarding my query. My main query was answered as follows " In some cases, that may take longer than one hour so the error message could indeed be misleading. I have reported your concerns to our development team and this is something that may be changed or fixed in the next version of able2know. "
