I'd like to predict that this story gets only page 6 or worse coverage by the major American papers, and no coverage by the networks, cable or otherwise. Why? Because 1) it runs counter to what the reporters have been told, 2) it is too complex an issue to explain in less than a minute, 3) there are no visuals with punch that can be used in reporting the story.

Remember, today's reporters are not involved in journalism, they are in marketing.

I agree, Joe. Something tells me that an artesian well will be more valuable than an oil well.

I am totally confused. All along we have been warned about "global warming". Now it's "global freezing"?? I really need time to sort all this stuff out!

Hey, Phoenix. Tell me about it. The scary part of that article is the fact that we aren't facing an enemy at which we can point a gun, and that the U.S. will have to become a fortress. Just another thing to contemplate during the upcoming election. Rolling Eyes

Letty- I have reached a point in my life where I am very clear about what I am able to change, and what I am unable. So........................., since I am not Chairman in Charge of global warming or global freezing or whatever, I say,

Quote:
There may be trouble ahead
But while there's music and moonlight (moonlight and music) and love and romance
Let's face the music and dance

Before the fiddlers have fled
Before they ask us to pay the bill, and while we still have THE chance
Let's face the music and dance

Soon, we'll be without the moon
Humming a different tune - and then...

There may be teardrops to shed
So (But) while there's music and moonlight (moonlight and music) and love and romance
(Let's face the music and dance, dance)
(Let's face the music - let's HEAR that music)
Let's face the music and dance

Phoenix, but if a large part of the Netherlands were inhabitable (due to climate change), we would not be able to enjoy very high level music performance from the Netherlands.

Sing out, Phoenix. Very Happy You're getting as musical as Broadway Joe. And speaking of Broadway:

Verse: 1

Good-bye New York town, good-bye Miss Liberty,
Your light of freedom will guide us across the sea,
Ev'ry soldier's sweetheart biding good-bye,
Ev'ry soldier's mother drying her eye.
Cheer up we'll soon be there,
Singing this Yan-kee air:

CHORUS 1:

Good-bye *Broadway, Hello France,
We're ten million strong,
Good-bye sweethearts, wives and mothers,
It won't take us long,
Don't you worry while we're there,
It's for you we're fighting too,
So Good-bye Broadway, Hello France,
We're going to square our debt to you.

Verse 2:

Vive Pershing is the cry across the sea.
We're united in this fight for liberty.
France sent us a soldier, brave La Fayette
Whose deeds and fame we cannot forget.
Now that we have the chance
We'll pay our debt to France.

CHORUS 2:

Good-bye *Broadway, Hello France,
We're ten million strong,
Good-bye sweethearts, wives and mothers,
It won't take us long,
Don't you worry while we're there,
It's you we're fighting for,
So Good-bye Broadway, Hello France,
We're going to help you win this war.

*Name of any city may be substituted for Broadway if desired.

Good Grief. How did thread turn into music? Very Happy

Hey, Satt. Focus on Hans Brinker, then. Should that not work, tilt at a few windmills. Smile

We're not trying to make light of the situation, but as Phoenix observed, not much that we can do except vote and vent.

They can't even predict the weather--this probably won't even happen.
