This is a light week for corporate earnings, with only two Dow components and 24 S&P 500 firms announcing fourth-quarter results. The big news will come toward the end of the week, when the federal government releases new data on inflation.
I read somewhere there has been a slight rise in inflation. Could the rise be attributed to the falling value of the dollar? If so can we expect that until the the dollars value ceases to fall we can expect inflation to continue to rise?
I think the interest rate will have more to do with it than the exchange rate.
I've seen some nations control inflation while not being able to control the exchange rate at all.
Anywho, we should get Thomas in here. He likes to talk economics and I like to listen when he's talking.
