So I would be offline for two weeks, unless they have Internet connectivity in the bush lands of Kenya, which I sincerely doubt.

Don't miss me too much - I will be thinking of all of you as I will sip sun downers sitting outside my tent!!

@the prince,
Have fun, but be careful! Kenia isn't exactly a safe haven!

@the prince,
Never been there but I'll bet that there are a couple of internet cafes in Nairobi.

Have a great time!

@OmSigDAVID,
Not everyone is American, David!
In some places around the world vacation is called holiday.

I believe you are correct, Tico. But why anyone would wish to intentionally appear stupid is quite beyond my ability to understand.

@OmSigDAVID,
David, 'holiday' is when you go hollidaying on your holidays for a holiday.

4th July and Labor (sic) day are something weird and American that the rest of us don't get, like Hostess Twinkies.

@izzythepush,
I remember when I was a kid and I went to Europe for the first time with my parents. We were in London at Harrods and the sales lady asked me if I was on holiday, I said no we're on vacation lol.

@jcboy,
Vacation isn't a word we use at all, but we're aware of it. It usually refers to a least a week spent away from home, but we also use it for days off like Christmas in the same way you do.

Yep. I showed up in London with a heavy tan, and I was repeatedly asked if I had just come back from holiday.

@izzythepush,
I remember going to a McDonald’s in London and asked for a cheeseburger with no onions, the girl behind the counter made fun of me and mocked my English, she said “WITH NO ONIONS’ what does that mean, lol, I guess I should have said without onions.

@jcboy,
She was probably just being cheeky. Then again, the brightest sparks don't tend to work at McDonalds.

A comedian once told a story about going into a Sainsburys supermarket, when she got to the checkout she handed over a Tescos loyalty card by mistake. The cashier gave it back, but not before she'd checked her own name badge see see which supermarket she worked for.

@jcboy,
I went into a Pizza Hut, and became a "celebrity" when I mentioned that I was from the town where Pizza Hut was founded.
