Stomach Pain

A little over a week ago I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible pain in my stomach. It hurt all over but it felt like it was radiating from the right side. When then pain came back after eating breakfast I called my doctor. They gave me an ultra sound of my gallbladder and ran blood tests for my liver. All came back negative. In the mean time I ate as blandly as I could and for the most part felt relief. I would still get nausea after eating and almost the feeling of indigestion, but no severe pain. Lately, I have been eating as I normally would (which for the most part is healthy - chicken - veggies - occasionally brown rice or a sweet potato), but this weekend I had a hamburger and a brat, and drank one night this weekend. Almost instantly after eating the nausea was back. And now the pain is back. It feels like it is under my right rib cage in the front and now I am feeling pain underneath my rib cage in the back left. The pain makes me slightly short of breath.
In addition to the pain, I have noticed tingling/lost of feeling in my feet and sometimes my left arm. When the pain comes and goes I occasionally get a shooting pain in my left arm, that goes from my shoulder to my elbow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My doctor has prescribed me prilosac, but I have not noticed any real relief from the symptoms. I am just getting a little frustrated! Thanks again!

@Eputt,
If it were me, I'd go back to the doctor. Not trying to alarm you but these sort of symptoms seem pretty intense (to me). I'd insist on more diagnostic tests. If you can't get an answer, find another doctor.

Prilosec (generic name is Omeprazole) and other PPI (proton pump inhibitors) work/works for many people with reflux. Others may need different meds or stronger dosages. Of course, your problem may be more than just reflux (an ulcer..etc.) or something else in addition to reflux.

I'd not want to suggest anything more as I'm not qualified (e.g. hiatal hernia..etc.) but telling your doctor about these serious new symptoms seems the best path to your getting relief.

@Eputt,
I can't solve your problem, but I can complicate it. You'd better see a doctor. Sounds a bit to me like prancreatitis. And proto-pump-inhibitors like Omepraezole/prilosec are receiving some FDA red flags, especiallly regarding the side-effects of long term use: magneseium depletion, calcium absorption
