What were the circumstances?

@mysteryman,
That was an Obama campaign stop in Madison Wisconsin yesterday. There are pix of it from a bunch of different angles all over the web.

I think the one Cyclo posted is from Time Magazine's political pix of the week blog.

here's another angle

@ehBeth,
Cyclo, The reason you don't see anything similar with Romney is very simple; he's already written off 47% of Americans as freeloaders, and pay no taxes.

Coal Miner’s Donor

Quote:
In August, Romney used Murray’s Century Mine in the town of Beallsville for a speech attacking Barack Obama as anti-coal. This fall, scenes from that event—several dozen coal-smudged Murray miners standing behind the candidate in a tableau framed by a giant American flag and a COAL COUNTRY STANDS WITH MITT placard—have shown up in a Romney ad.

The ads aired even after Ohio papers reported what I was told by several miners at the event, a bit of news that an internal memo confirms: The crowd was not there of its own accord. Murray had suspended Century’s operations and made clear to workers that they were expected to attend, without pay. “I tell ya, you’ve got a great boss,” Romney said in acknowledging Robert Murray from the stage. “He runs a great operation here.”

The accounts of two sources who have worked in managerial positions at the firm, and a review of letters and memos to Murray employees, suggest that coercion may also explain Murray staffers’ financial support for Romney. Murray, it turns out, has for years pressured salaried employees to give to the Murray Energy political action committee (PAC) and to Republican candidates chosen by the company. Internal documents show that company officials track who is and is not giving. The sources say that those who do not give are at risk of being demoted or missing out on bonuses, claims Murray denies.

The Murray sources, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution, came forward separately. But they painted similar pictures of the fund-raising operation. “There’s a lot of coercion,” says one of them. “I just wanted to work, but you feel this constant pressure that, if you don’t contribute, your job’s at stake. You’re compelled to do this whether you want to or not.” Says the second: “They will give you a call if you’re not giving. . . . It’s expected you give Mr. Murray what he asks for.”

And what he asks for offers a lesson for 2012: Even in a year of hyperventilation about super PACs, dubious older ways of raising political dollars still matter.

@ehBeth,
Excuse me for not looking it up. I was at work when I asked, using my phone.
I do have a job, I don't sit around on the internet all day.

@mysteryman,
That's kind of a low blow, mm. I think normally intelligent people can put in a solid 40 hour work week and still find a few minutes to carry on short web conversations. I do.

You do have a penchant for asking questions that either seem to be you just playing dumb, or are things that you could find yourself in two minutes. In fact in the time it took you to write the snarky answer to ehBeth you could have found info about the Obama rally.

@snood,
Since I responded to her more than 24 hours after her post, what makes you think I didn't look it up.
When I asked the question, I was still at work, and didn't get off work for almost 2 hours after I asked.

Now this is interesting. Using a widely-accepted software tool, used by a lot of businesses to gauge public opinion, analysts have looked at something well over a million responses on social media to see what the public thinks about who won the debate. And at first, the view was Romney, tho far from unanimously, and of course Ogunga-snake and Finn were ecstatic, but as time has gone by, there has been a big sea change in public opinion. As it has become clear to many people that Romney "won" essentially by lying, distorting, and misrepresenting the facts, his "27 myths" in one widespread analysis, the tide has turned against him, and the opinion now is that Obama was the one who came out ahead. Hope you enjoyed your two days, Ogunga and Finn. That seems to be all you're gonna get.

As I recall the time when Mormons did not allow Negros into their flock - back then. I'm not sure whether "their" Lord has allowed them to change their policy.

What happened to vaunted google research? Romney received that $12 million within 48 hours of the debate.
