There are a lot of threads that ask for lists of the best or the worst or the greatest or whatever. I often participate in such threads, and I make sure that I keep within the parameters set by the original post. For instance, if the thread is about movies, I won't cite an example drawn from television. If the thread is about sports, I won't cite an example from video games. You get the idea (and if you don't, you're part of the problem).
Yet in every thread like that (and I'm not exaggerating -- it's every thread), someone will contribute an example that simply does not fit within the topic. For instance, if a thread asked for a list of the best movie westerns, someone will invariably respond with something like West Side Story -- because, you know, it's about the west side and all. Really, people, I'm serious here -- you're pathetic!
So I've reconciled myself to the fact that, although I like these kinds of threads, it's clear that the rest of you all suck at them. My dilemma: should I make a big deal about it if someone tosses in a blatantly irrelevant example that violates the contours of discussion set out by the original post, or should I just ignore it, assume that the poster is a total retard, and move on.
@joefromchicago,
You should quote the offending post and spend the next four pages detailing why the post (and, ultimately, the poster) suck. Then, once the entire tenor of the thread has been lost you can start another thread until the same thing happens. Rinse and repeat.
Or... now that you have this post for future reference you can simply reply to the post with a link to your sentiments and move on.
Or... it's just a freaking set of favorites. Get over yourself.

Well, I don't see that happening any time soon.
You should just fuckin' shoot somebody . . . you'd feel much better . . . really, ask David . . .
@joefromchicago,
This is the worst. list. thread. ever.

I, for one, do not believe this is the worst list thread ever.
@joefromchicago,
Hands down the best response to that suggestion I've ever seen. Gotta remember this one...
@Ragman,
Oh starling, whither dost thou flock?
Is this thread, like, a list of clues for scary films?
If so, I say The Silence of the Lambs.
@ossobuco,
I never saw that movie, so I did not cause it.
Mary Had a Little Lamb, (and the doctor fainted!)
Are we talking about lambs because the OP is one?
Here's a f'rinstance:
Songs with Oxymorons: the original poster wanted songs that contained oxymorons in the lyrics. Yet almost all of the examples given were, at best, paradoxes, not oxymorons.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
