@fbaezer,
(So, fbaezer, are you going to join us again this year for the A2k Fantasy NFL game? I hope so.)
@realjohnboy,
Wait til the end of the Olympics, RJB, I can't think ofg two tournaments at the same time. I'm a man!

shuho moves down a little, and Jahiegel moves ahead of fbaezer. And the USA Women continue their strong performances again.
@realjohnboy,
Me too - hope that can tantalize you to just win..
@wheel158,
I've got the same scores as wheel158. Thanks for filling in, wheel! I should have scores up on time tomorrow.
Wow! I just continue to plummet! Can't even contend for last place rights. Oh how the allegedly mighty have fallen.
As we get close to the end of the Games, it occurs to me that we need a tiebreaker. I'm going to suggest we use the winning time in the men's marathon to break any ties. If you are in the running for a medal spot (or just want to break a potential tie for 15th place), then please PM me your prediction of the winning time by 5am US ET (10am London). I have already sent my time to tsartepan, to avoid the possibility that I could use your predictions to game the system. Closest (regardless of whether it's higher or lower) to the actual winning time wins any ties.
@tgordon92,
In former Fantasy Olympics, the tie-breaking rule was Most Points in Group D, if the tie persists, Most Points in Group C. and so on...
I'd vote for Fbaezer's idea because it requires no further input from players.
@fbaezer,
I'd forgotten the previous tiebreaker. Let's keep that one, then. Thanks for pointing it out, fbaezer.

Jahiegel vaults into second. What's more, the only difference between his lineup and mine is that he's got Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Italy while I've got Greece, Czech Republic, and South Korea. There are five guaranteed silvers among the former, and only one in the latter, so he's a good deal closer than it appears, and if some Kazakh or Italian boxers win their finals, things could get really interesting. Fbaezer also has Kazakhstan and Italy, and also has Mexico, which is appearing in the football championship tomorrow.
With 32 golds on the line tomorrow, a lot could still happen to make this a very tight race going into the final day.
@tgordon92,
thanks for the update tgordon!
@tgordon92,
I have the same scores, tgordon...
Hopefully, Japan and Italy will capitalize on all opportunities. I've moved into the top 5, and I'm coming for you!
@wheel158,
Japan won't help you against me, wheel. You need Italy, Poland and Switzerland to outscore South Korea, Czech Republic and Croatia by 33 to catch me, and I'm pretty sure the Swiss and Poles aren't in any of the finals on the track or in the ring. Looks like it's up to the Italians for you.
Congratulations, Mexico!!

The race for gold is extremely close. In sports with a gold and bronze medal matchup already set for tomorrow, Jahiegel is guaranteed at least 12 points that I won't get, with a chance at 9 more, while I'm only guaranteed 3 that he won't get, with a chance at 2 more. This should come down to the wire. To recap, it's Italy, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan for Jahiegel and South Korea, Czech Republic, and Greece for me that make up the difference.
Also, there's a three-way race for bronze, with fbaezer fighting off newcomers Unsullied and wheel158.
