You're absolutely right, of course.
But when one starts a thread that's meant to be satyrical, a certain amount of cliche and buzzwords totally without meaning are de rigeur and used advisedly.

If we were observing the whole Galaxy species and debating with "Vulcans" about compared interplanetary species how would we agree who is surviving further and getting extinct first ?
(thought would be fun bring in relativity onto Darwinism)
Survival is within the context of an individual. It is never within the context of a species. "Species" is a concept, while individuals are particular concretes. Darwinism is, imo, defunct, and needs to be recast in terms of something else.
