@JLNobody,
There are propositions about truth which entail no logic, no instrumental values and no empirical evidence. Religious doctrine comes immediately to mind.
Have you no sense of humor? Why are you responding as though this were serious thread? Killjoy.
I think that I don't know who steve forbert is.

I think thinking is a gateway to knowledge. And knowledge is power. So thinking leads to power, as long as you're thinking the right things. What are the right things? I have to think about that.
@Roberta,
If you eat Chinese food, an hour later you're hungry.
If you eat German food, an hour later you're hungry for power.

My mother used to tell me that I think too much.
How do you cut down? Haven't figured that out yet, but I've been thinking about it.
I don't need to justify thinking , I just do it because I like doing it , its fun
I don't know what to think about that starfish.

@Lustig Andrei,
it is about one hour i am thinking of why i think
@Lustig Andrei,
It's an addiction. I'm a heavy thinker. Even my sponsor at "Intellectuals Anonymous" says I'm hopeless. What can I say?
@Thomas,
I applied to be a member of Intellectuals Anonymous.

For myself, thinking isn't the real problem. The problem is that thinking so easily leads to other self-destructive activities, e.g. speaking out and actually doing. I see it on these threads all the time. People will post absolute rubish, all as a result of having thought about a subject too long and too intensely. Before you know it, creeps like that are out on the streets carrying placards and chanting "When do we want it?" (Whatever the it-du-jour happens to be.) "NOW!" Had they but stopped not to think, this could so easily gave been prevented. Sad, really.

Andy, I think the rubbish stems from those who have conquered the thinking too much problem. I think the rubbish posters have given up thinking and are focusing on talking/typing without thinking.
Well, that's what I think.
@Roberta,
You don't visit the philosophy threads much, do you, 'Boita?
@Lustig Andrei,
Nope. I got an A in philosphy in college. I figure I thunk enough along those lines. (BTW, my prof said that he thought I had a very unusual mind.)
