Do you think Zimmerman will be convicted of murder?

Seems like they would eventually learn that bullying doesn't work with me.

Not with me either, but it has taken 4.5 years for this truth to set in even though I said from the start that I come from an abuse background and refuse to be a victim. If someone wants to shut me up there is one way and one way only....prove me wrong. I am not looking for more friends, I am looking for the truth and looking to learn from smart people (of which there are many at A2K -explaining why I am still here) , high school (or around here Jr High) social pressure tactics will impress me not at all.

Slow learners they are.

This is indisputable. Also indisputable is that a lot of these same people think VERY highly of themselves! A2K is a great place to watch the ego defense mechanisms at work.

@hawkeye10,

Among the nearly 150 jailhouse calls to or from George Zimmerman that were released by prosecutors this week was an April 19 call to the controversial Florida pastor Terry Jones.

Zimmerman placed the call to Jones just one day before Zimmerman’s initial bond hearing. His purpose was to try and dissuade Jones from holding a rally in Sanford in support of Zimmerman, who faces second degree murder charges for the killing of Trayvon Martin February 26th.

After asking to pray with Jones, Zimmerman said, “first and foremost thank you for your prayers, I know they’re being heard and I see them being answered every day. I was calling today to ask you, humbly, from one God fearing sinner to the other, for time, for healing, for not only the city of Sanford but America. I know that your intentions are good … and I know that ultimately God will see his will be done.”

Zimmerman continued: “I just ask that perhaps instead of coming Saturday and protesting, we allow law enforcement to do their job and not lose focus, and that perhaps you could even come and visit and pray with me instead of protesting.”

This does not sound anything like the "George Zimmerman" fellow we have been hearing so much about. Surely something must have gone wrong with the prison phone call recording equipment and these words were said by someone else.

@oralloy,
Wow. So in murder trials they ignore who was killed and who killed them?

What reality do you live in?

I am curious how Zimmerman could be looking for a street sign in that spot.

George Zimmerman has granted an exclusive interview to Fox News' Sean Hannity, scheduled to air Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, Fox announced.
"Zimmerman will open up about what happened the night of Trayvon Martin’s death and his experience in the aftermath of the fatal shooting," according to a Fox press release.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Martin, an unarmed black teenager, on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla. The case has become the focus of national media, and ignited an emotional debate over race and gun rights.

Zimmerman, the son of a white father and Peruvian mother of Hispanic descent, has pleaded innocent to the murder charge, and says that he shot Martin in self-defense after Martin attacked him. He is out on bail preparing for a trial.
During the hour-long interview to air on Hannity’s program, Zimmerman and attorney Mark O’Mara will discuss the night of the shooting, and address rumors about about bail donations and hidden money, Mediabistro.com reported.
A legal expert following the case said there were several possible strategic reasons for O'Mara to allow his client to appear on national television.
"Clearly they are trying to humanize (Zimmerman) some more and give his story some traction," said retired judge and former prosecutor Phyllis Kotey, who now teaches at Florida International University College of Law.
They may also see it as a test run for court, she said.
"It's a chance to hone the story and test it — test versions, what works, reactions, to see what’s going to happen," she said. "It's an opportunity to see how a particular position will play."

Sure, lets just assume that George is not honest
She noted that in a television appearance, Zimmerman can speak without the risk of cross-examination by the prosecution.

the state can use anything he says at trial, so this is false. Besides, the state as been all over the PR circuit so why should George get to do it too?
"Every time he does something public like this, he has an oppportunity to get information to the potential jurors without having to take the stand," said Kotey.

The state constantly works to taint the jury pool, so what is your point?
Requests for comment from O'Mara's office were not immediately answered.
Fox News spokesperson Carly Shanahan said there was no payment in return for the exclusive interview.
The interview, which was taped Wednesday morning, is slated to run a second time at midnight ET

Depends on the trial. In trials where those issues are not in contention, and are not relevant to the question of guilt or innocence, they probably do not play a major role.

Well, if the speculation in that map is correct, that is the area where he was advised that they did not need for him to pursue.

If you suddenly stop moving and start trying to relay your position to the police, "where you are" is likely the place that you will begin looking for street addresses.

No. He was just trying to keep Trayvon in view.

Yes. Even if there were evidence of manslaughter (which so far seems rather thin, at least based on publicly available knowledge), Zimmerman's motivations do seem to have been grounded in good citizenship.

I know the wheels of justice grind slowly, but does anyone know (or have conjecture they want to share concerning ) the rationale for the l-o-ooong period of time that it looks like will pass before this goes to trial?

@snood,
My conjecture would be crowded court calenders and the time each side needs to prepare for trial.

You seem to be confused as to the facts of this case.

Zimmerman was not trying to take away Trayvon's Skittles.

Zimmerman shot Trayvon in order to end Trayvon's violent assault upon him.

No thanks. I'll stick to facts if you don't mind. I'm more comfortable that way.

we obviously need a sarcasm emoticon...

good solid citizens, both of them.

except for that ugly perjury charge...

but the judge and the state are complicit in a scheme to get these poor innocent folks for sure...

Known facts like what Zimmerman was thinking and like you know for certain that Zimmerman wasn't trying to take Skittles away.

Obviously, you seem to think your opinions are facts.

So far I've heard no one dispute that Zimmerman was trying to trail along behind Martin and keep him in view before the dispatcher advised that they didn't need him to do that.

If you'd like to make some sort of argument that Zimmerman wasn't doing that, I'll listen to your case.

As for the Skittles, yes I in fact do know for certain that Zimmerman was not trying to steal Trayvon's Skittles. That whole notion is silly, and you know it.

No, I am quite well aware of the difference between opinion and fact.
