Researchers are investigating the possible ongoing birth of a small vulcano on the Ometepec area, epicenter of the continuous quakes (14 today so far).

@fbaezer,
Will the birth affect many humans, should it go ahead?

Another 5.4 at lunchtime.
The seismic alarm worked and we had to leave the building for a few minutes before dessert and coffee.
We waited, I didn't feel a thing, but this constant replica thing is not funny anymore.

@dlowan,
Honestly, I dunno.
In 1947, a new volcano, Paricutín, covered two villages with lava.
The residents relocated to vacant land nearby.

Some great images of Paricutin being born:

113 aftershocks so far!

2 Jr. High Schools in Mexico City suffered "structural damage" and most be reconstructed.
1 person died in Oaxaca from a feeble wall falling on him during a replica.

And the freaking Pope arrives tomorrow! Is God trying to tell us something?

@fbaezer,
We'll see what he has to say about it. Most of the world is waiting to see what comes out of Cuba.

Experts went to the zone of the quakes' epicenter, and concluded that a new volcano inception is very unlikely. Normal plaque movements, they are.

@fbaezer,
Is Paricutin done for now or is it still active?

Just about the same spot as the 7.6 quake...epicenters were about a mile apart.

According to the National Seismologic Center (Mx) this was a big aftershock of the 3-20 earthquake.

Earthquakes galore!
Another one, quite noticeable, just a few minutes ago, made the whole office leave the building.
I'm just back.

Preliminary measure: 6.4 Richter.
