Does Viagra prolong the time it takes to have an orgasm? After you have an orgasm, do you just stay completely hard?

On a side note: I can't remember the name of it, but I think I've heard of a medical condition where a person has an erection that just won't go away. It's supposedly very painful. I am not sure if this is real, or just some urban legend. Has anybody else heard of this? What's the name of it?

It is NOT an urban legend, but a painful medical condition called priapism. Sometimes people DO have too much of a good thing!

I used to teach a woman who marketed Viagra in South America. She claimed it was frequently taken by people for reasons other than impotency. Such as the reason you mention (to prolong erection).

She never said anything about post coitus erection and I suspect that other than a slight difference in potency of the erection there would be little difference from a regular erection.

I don't remember whether she was recommending a half pill or a quarter pill but she did recommend a partial dose for this purpose.

I know that there are several reasons this can happen. And yes it's true.

In the stories I am aware of the pain comes after a certain duration. In one story I translated for a medical journal in Brazil the guy's erection lasted throughout carnaval. Which he though was both way cool and appropriate for the festivities. After a few days (I do not remember the details) he grew to regret it.

Priapism! That's it! Thank you! That would have driven me crazy all night.

Oh, and in all the hype over this drug, I almost forgot that it was really intended to treat impotency! I wonder what the percentages are of people who take it for recreational use versus actual medical treatment. I bet there's more people doing it for recreation.

In clubs, the lastest trend is to mix E and Viagra. I've heard of many men mixing Viagra with many drugs, purposely for recreation uses. It sounds dangerous but...
I've also heard of women taking the drug. From everything I've heard it's pretty useless, but pure testoterone will bump up womens sex drives.

A friend of mine told me about his younger brother. About 30 years old. Took one of his father's viagra tablets and five hours later, his wife, exhausted, put on her clothes, got into her car and drove away, leaving him in bed with a hard-on. In pain, he finally called his father who just laughed at him and said "I'm sorry son but there's nothing I can do for ya."

It's neither here nor there really but I thought it was a funny story.
