In 2012 America will hold a presidential election. The Republican party must choose a candidate. The party is divided between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Who will win the nomination and can either candidate beat Barack Obama?

@tobryan,
Romney will be the GOP candidate and the economy will determine who wins in November.

I also believe Romney will be the GOP candidate. I'm voting for Obama but I don't have a lot of faith in the American voters, they voted Bush twice so Romney could be our next President.

I hope not. I was a resident of Massachusetts when he was governor there.

I agree that Romney might be elected in 2012 because I never over estimate the intelligence of the U.S. voter. Too much conservative radio and tv and not enough study of all written sources.

@H2O MAN,
American presidential elections are way too sensationalized. We are voting for rockstars instead of presidents. We need political leaders who know what they are doing. I haven't gotten this impression from any of the candidates this year. The question really is, who looks best? who wore the best tie or had their shoes scuffed up just enough? I am not even thinking of voting this year.

Power is in congress. The political parties want everyone to concentrate on the presidency so they wont watch the congressman who really control the government. More brainwashing of citizens too lazy to study their reps.
