@roger,
Don't do it, your socks will get all squishy and then they'll become hard and uncomfortable. Consider this a public service announcement. I'm here for ya!!
Of course they'll get hard and uncomfortable. Pasta is made out of STARCH! It's supposed to be uncomfortable.

Anthony, you know me already, but I'll add some things you might not have picked up -
I used to be a lab technologist (a word we used back then, it meant you had a degree and a state license) who ran (I do mean ran, I was the only one in the room and the one who moved the refrigerator, etc.) a rheumatology clinical lab, and was later head tech for an immunology research lab, and later yet, not quite a happy camper at a clinical lab that grew to be an international kind of resource.
I took a zillion nighttime art studio classes after work then.
So, when I was feeling trapped with no windows in the last lab room and repetitive tasks, I wanted to change.
Whereupon, I started in with landscape architecture courses at a university with an extension/night classes. That took four years. Worked all day most of that time in jobs in the new field. Eventually passed national boards and had a couple of dozen years of design fun and stress in the new field.
Married a guy I found interesting, and still is as a human a long time after our divorce. In the midst of all the above, I became a painter, had two galleries.
Politically, I'm quite left of most americans and scarily center to myself.
Hello Antony & welcome to A2K.
I think I've already welcomed you on another thread, but seeing as this is your official introduction thread, I'll do it again now.
I'm Olga, from Melbourne, Australia.
