Though gold, depending on the carat, can be quite soft and will scratch easily.

True, Ceili. The higher the carat weight, the softer the gold.

hi,good question . ornaments are not made up of pure GOLD /SILVER . At the design time in them it mix with another metals .thats the reason may be cause of change shine of it and looking dull
