It was just a few years ago where doctor's offices were on high alert to keep forms up to date as to who could look at your chart(s). They had signatures and came back to the subject many times. It appeared they were serious about it all.
Then came talk about Universal Health Care and having your records available on-line anywhere at all times. You know, in case you were out of state into another state and in a bad state; which in all honesty, happens but not very often, anything can happen. But never the less we were given this scare tactic to get into it and we have began.
Well guess what, 'anyone you know who is in the medical system' across the country can most likely or will be able to get into your medical records from anywhere. I counted the number of people from just my family who are employeed in some manner in medical and there were five. This is just very close family. I easily counted five more who are from a wider community surrounding my family who could easily have such access. Whereas before, there were no related family members but about six nurses who really don't know me personally and who already have pretty good working knowledge.
But I definitely see this universal medical records being much more open and available to many more.
