I got nothing, come to think of it.
@edgarblythe,
I was all prepared to settle in for a nice, long read
@Irishk,
Well, apparently the party stands for nothing these days.
@edgarblythe,
I thought about it. Too hard a question for me. I think of it as a ragbag containing all sorts of opinions/beliefs ranging from not so very left to well into the right with dashes of libertarian thoughts for added spice.

According to the "What We Stand For" menu at democrats.org:
-Civil Rights
-Economy & Job Creation
-Education
-Energy Independence
-Environment
-Fair Elections
-Health Care
-Immigration Reform
-National Security
-Open Government
-Science & Technology
-Retirement Security
-Voting Rights
Of course, I could say that I stand for these things too. Doesn't mean I do...
It's one thing to click "like" on a topic. Something else to fight for it.
@edgarblythe,
Iv'e never felt more ineffectual while thumbing up a post.
@thack45,
I agree. But I sure as hell wont vote for Romny or Gingrich or any of the other duds the repubs are running!!!
@RABEL222,
I'm curious what you agree with...
Why not vote for the person you want to be the president?
@thack45,
Because I havent found anyone who is running for president or congress who believes as I do. For 50 years I have voted for the people who I believed would do the least damage to government and our economy so I have decided to vote against whoever is in office because Dem. or repub. they are all crooked politicians.
@RABEL222,
Same here. The way they get you is by running a festering pile of **** against a mere pile of **** so you feel compelled to vote anyway.
@RABEL222,
I'd guess you're far from alone with this mentality. And considering the commonality of such a grim view of American politics - by Americans, I wonder why we continue to accept the same thing happening over and over again.
@edgarblythe,
Funny I didn't see this post before I made mine...

Why,of all the nonsense! Just like the Republicans, the party stands for re-election.
@Lustig Andrei,
Ya got me, merry. I knew sooner or later somebody would come up with something.
And so we'll go on waiting for worthy politicians to emerge from the empowered parties in which we admittedly have no confidence... Ah well
