This magazine (Gentleman's Magazine) was so popular and such as success that many rivals soon appeared, notably among others "The London Magazine." (Edward) Cave, without leave, obtained the substance of Parliamentary debates and speeches, and printed them in his magazine until he was stopped by Sir W. Younger.
