This will show us.

Quote:

Resolved that: Our President, the Democrats-Socialists, most of the media, and most of those from Hollywood, have now encouraged and supported "Occupy" demonstrations in our streets, which are now being perpetrated across the globe, and which are being populated by various marxists, socialists and even communists, and are protesting against business, private property ownership and capitalism, something I thought I'd never see in my country, in my lifetime.

I, an American small business owner, part of the class that produces the vast majority of real, wealth producing jobs in this country, hereby resolve that I will not hire a single person until this war against business and my country is stopped.

I hereby declare that my job creation potential is now ceased.

The obvious question is what small businesses will do without any employees. They don't seem to have an answer for this.

@maxdancona,
I'm a small business owner. If I need to hire more people I will hire them. We are just barely surviving so I don't have time to waste on political demonstrations at the expense of my profit margin.

The demonstrations against Wall St. don't bother me as a businessman because they aren't focused on my level of business. And I figure the "big boys" can take care of themselves (they always have). I doubt they are worried, or bothered, by the protests, but for entirely different reasons than mine... the protests simply won't have any effect on them.

I'm not entirely sure what the protesters want to accomplish or how they intend to do it, but if the "Tea Party" thinks the protests are aimed at small business, then I think they are blinder than blind.

@maxdancona,
My understanding has been that some of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are themselves small businessmen. The key word here is 'small.' The global behemoths are putting all the struggling small-timers effectively out of business. It has nothing to do with Marxists vs the capitalists or liberals vs conservatives. It's about the suffering poor vs the insufferable rich.

You have to remember that the business model of the Koch Brothers is that of a small business. That is who is feeling threatened by the Occupy (your space here) protests.

Big business will just wait for the cold winter weather to set in before responding/reacting to and gauging the determination of the protestors.
