Squinney and I have been married 22 years. Of course we don't live together, but we decided and realized there were tax advantages to remaining married.

as a matter of fact it is not. the IRS doesn't differentiate between living together and separated. . You're either married or not. I checked with my accountant. In answer to your second question...no.
