Oh, my word, edgar. I remember that clearly. Who was that kid? I think he was the one who later played in Hawaii 50--"book him, Dano."
That's the one, but I think the spider bite just blinded him. Good grief. Spiders still freak me out and I blame it on J.M. and Sabu.
I saw it on television and didn't sit through every scene.
Well, I bought the DVD of Bambi. Their adds on television made me curious about how the color could be even more brilliant than the original. Sadly, they tinkered with the artists' original intentions. The original had a lyrical quality now missing. That was half of the charm of the show. Idiots.
I saw that commercial, edgar, and yes, if they destroyed the original intent, we'll call 'em idiot.
I am really confused about something. How many Red Dragon movies are there starring Anthony Hopkins. I tried to watch both, back to back. Now that's confusing.
Tomorrow, then...adieu
I don't recall ever watching a Hopkins film.
edgar, You didn't see Silence of the Lambs?
ah, then, edgar. I can understand why the two dragons would not breathe fire into your memory.
I brought Silence of the Lambs home one evening, not knowing what it was about. After thefirst five minutes, the mrs said, "I can't watch this." I was not all that curious about it anyway and didn't even ask her objection. We just took it back to the rental.
Well, edgar. It was pretty gruesome. I read the book first. The provacative part to me was the title of the thing.
I don't enjoy gore and brutality, letty. That's not to say there should be no violence in films and literature. I just don't want to feel that it's being glamorized when I watch it.
edgar, I don't either. I watched the movie and read the book for the sake of it's acting and psychological aspects. It helps me to understand real life situations, such as the ones that we are experiencing in Iraq. The torture and horror that is supported by our government is far worse than Hannibal Lecter. Well, enough of that. I'm was just confused about the two versions of the movie. I did not watch them to completion.
As you may know, my friend. I took psychology in UVA to really understand the process of learning.
If you want to see something really great, try and find out if you get Monk. That man is one fine actor, and there is pathos mixed with humor. You will love that series, edgar.
I watched the first year of Monk. Then it disappeared. I was told it had moved to a UHF channel, but have never found it. I loved what I got to see.
Well, edgar. I get it on my cable system here, and it's USA. I think you can rent the episodes, but I'm not certain.
I was looking at the movie on TCM. It's about the ascension of Solomon to the throne of Israel.
See you tomorrow, my friend.
The final Star Wars film is a must see on my list.
I watched I Robot and The Name of the Rose this weekend.
I Robot was very good, I thought, despite some logical fallacies to the story. Very well filmed, pretty exciting.
The Name of the Rose was much better. I think I read that it was filmed in 1986. Starring Sean Connery. There is a mystery, of people dying in a 14th Century monestery and Sean comes in to investigate. Filmed in a 12th Century monestery. I am no student of the time, but was impressed with the treatment.
Tomorrow, edgar. I have seen them both.<smile>
