The conspiracy theory that the CIA was causing drug addiction in the US has a long history. It has often been put forward at various times.

Drugs profits from Afghanistan were used by the CIA to fund the Mujihadeen against the Russians when George Bush was head of the CIA.

Drug running was also tied to the Iran Contra scandal.

When the American pilot Eugene Hasenfus was shot down in Nicaragua there were rumors he was running drugs for the CIA.

Here's some sketchy info on some of the other instances.

Like all conspiracy theories it has some facts intermingled with a lot of speculation. The CIA was more than willing to work with drug smugglers because they needed sources. The drugs were being sold in poor US communities which often meant black communities. It takes little to turn it into a government plot to addict minorities to keep them down.

@parados,
And the reason the CIA would want to keep the poor minorities down is...?

Oh of course, it threatened their jobs?

@Ragman,
It's a conspiracy theory. It doesn't have to be based on reality. It just needs enough facts to make some people believe it because they want to.

I suggest that you guys would listen to a song called "Peruvian Cocaine" by Immortal Technique, that may be explaining this issue better for your ears.

@mt774,
Astutely observed!

Seriously, you seem ill-equipped to handle spirited debate nor contend with people disagreeing with you. What in the world would lead you to such a conclusion? Just because I disagree with your absurdist comments? Nowhere did I express such a sentiment.

Just out of curiosity, what country are you from and what is your primary language? I think one problem here is that you just don't understand this culture both in real life and online. You seem to hold beliefs about American culture that are fanned by tabloid journalists.

So Immortal Technique is tabloid journalist? What about Minister Farrakhan? He is honorable and holds such beliefs.

Seems like you guys are just will not interest in the concerns of some black Americans and like to view those issues as childish and unimportant. Well let me tell you that sometimes we must discuss those concerns as much as white Americans issue.

Man, you just know nothing about the United States. Crack is a problem for whtie people and Latinos just as much as it is for black people. I don't know where you get your distorted view of the United States, and i don't really care. I suspect that you listen to some rap, and think you know it all. You're a sad case.

I don't know what you mean. Crack epidemic affected mostly just those black areas predominant. You have never heard people such as Nicky Barnes?

We need to know more about you, mt774. Your ideas come from some very questionable sources. Are you interested in finding better sources?
