Context:

They displayed the resilience that has helped to define the nation since the terrorist attack on the nearby World Trade Center, rallying from a 14-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to stun Dallas 27-24 on Nick Folk's 50-yard field goal with 27 seconds left.

It can be read as 27 to 24, but most likely would just be read as "twenty seven twenty four" given that in context it's understood to be a sports score. It would definitely never be reas as "27 versus 24" by a native speaker.
