i need three shakespear play quotes and their meanings
please help, its quite important and i don't have any sources to get them myself.
Thanks in advance
From ANY play? Their 'translations' into Modern English, or hidden nuances? Or relations to the play? I'll give you some quotes; tell me what you want and I'll re-reply.
'To be, or not to be, that is the question?
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them> To die; to sleep;
No more.'
Hamlet.
'Out out brief candel!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then it heard no more; it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.'
Macbeth.
'O! she doth teach the torches to burn bright,
It seems she hang upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear;
Beauty's too rich for use, for earth too dear.'
R&J.
'It is the cause, it is the cause, my soul;
Let me not name it to you, you chaste stars!
It is the cause. Yet I'll not shed her blood
Nor scar that whiter skin of hers than snow...
Yet she must die, else she'll betray more men
Put out the light, and then put out the light.'
Othello.
