@Finn dAbuzz,
Obamacare does not take effect until 2014.It's benefits are being slowly reduced by Congress, who rewrite it each time they need money for something else.

@Yahoojack,
What this accomplished was bring the plight of the Palestinians to a wider audience. We need a full boycott of apartheid Israel like we did with South Afrrica. It also lets the Israelis know how disguting many people in the West find their actions.

It also shows that you can't find anyone to comment on your topics, so you have to dig up an old one of mine.

@izzythepush,
One of the main achievements is the building up a head of steam for a full boycott.

Quote:
PALESTINIANS SCENT THEIR “SOUTH AFRICA MOMENT” – OMAR BARGHOUTI AT PSC AGM

Saturday January 21 marked a watershed moment for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in the UK, with a standing ovation for Omar Barghouti, founder of the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), at the Annual General Meeting of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC).

“Today, solidarity with Palestine cannot but include support for BDS as the most popular and one of the most effective forms of peaceful, civil struggle for Palestinian rights,” Barghouti told almost 300 campaigners from all over the UK, meeting in the Conway Hall in London to mark the 30th year since PSC’s foundation.

“At its most basic level, BDS calls for ending partnership in crime, ending complicity in the perpetration, justification and whitewash of Israel’s grave violations of Palestinian rights.

“Withdrawing support for an evil policy or system, as Martin Luther King describes the boycott, is not heroic; it is a profound moral obligation,” Barghouti said.

OUR “SOUTH AFRICA MOMENT”

With recent successes such as huge contract losses for French multinationals Alstom and Veolia, both complicit in Israel’s illegal occupation, the University of Johannesburg’s severance of ties with an Israeli university implicated in human rights violations and the spread of the cultural boycott to prominent musicians and other artists, “BDS is on the verge of its South Africa moment,” said Barghouti.

Building a mass boycott movement comparable to the South African anti-apartheid campaign was placed at the heart of PSC’s work for the coming year.

Liebe kinder, if Israel is apartheid, it is the result of Europe being apartheid. Cause and effect. If Israel's action are "disgusting," it is because Europe's actions were disgusting. Cause and effect.

One should not get all self-rightous when so many of one's own (aka, Europeans) were in tacit approval of the "cause," in my opinion.

@Foofie,
it's everybody's fault, the real final solution should have been the extermination of the entire human race

what a wonderful world that would be

@Foofie,
Lets try to put right what's happening now, we can do nothing about the past. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Not in the UK, we were fighting the Nazis long before the Americans got involved. There was more tacit approval in America than Britain, Lindbergh and all that.

That's typical of you though, this was a thread about peaceful protest against an apartheid regime. You want to talk about the holocaust because you know Israel's actions are indefensible.

What's more telling is that this thread was dead and buried, until someone who posts threads about all Moslems being paedophiles comes along and resurrects it.

Only if the dinosaurs are able to make it back.

No world with thinking creatures ever really seems to stand a chance in the long run.

@izzythepush,
The "plight of the Palestinians" is in the USA news nearly every day.
So is their constant rocket and suicide attacks on Israeli civilians.

Ever since 9/11, when Muslim terrorists murdered 3,000 Americans,they don't get much sympathy here. Also in the minds of Americans are the 250 US marines on a peacekeeping mission in Beirut murdered by a Muslim terrorist bomb attack.

Your friends are bloodthirsty animals. We hunt them down in Afghanistan and worldwide.We don't support them.

Oh, you poor baby. And it wasn't even 3,000 Americans, you lying son of a bitch. Marines, on a peacekeeping mission, now pull my other leg.

Had it been double, triple or even ten fold that it would not come close to the millions that the US has slaughtered.

Y'all hunt them down because you don't want anyone interfering with your ability to steal the wealth of other nations. A hypocrite like you ought not to be casting aspersions because all the "terrorists" put together are pikers measured against what the US has done.
