WHY DO WE ALLOW THE WIMMINS TO DRIVE?

I have seen lots of idiots talk on the cell phone and not pay attention to their driving, almost causing a wreck. However, that doesn't mean that all people can't talk and drive at the same time. My stepmother is a "soccer mom" always running errands and having to schlep the kids about, and she is a great driver. She somehow manages to eat, talk on the phone, and drive very well at the same time. Go figure.

I think I have a solution to this problem. Women have the right to drive, just as much as men. However, it is true that a woman behind the wheel of a car is more dangerous than a crackhead with a machine gun.

So, here's my proposal, and this applies only to Canada and the United States -- we'll give it a test run here and, if it works, global applications will soon follow.

We give the women the tractors. There's a hell of a lot of old tractors not being used because so many small farmers have been put out of business.

Tractors are slower and can bump into things without causing too much damage to the tractor or the object being hit.

So, the women can still drive to work and run errands. It'll just take a little longer, that's all. And the men can zip around them as they head to the liquor store or football game. It's a win-win situation.

Whew! I finally came up with a good idea.

Setanta, you are a brave man! Or else an idiot for thinking up this thread.

Hamburger has it right. Women are better drivers than men and the insurance rates are proof.

Soz, I've seen the soccer moms and some of them are really scary! Yet men do the same thing and do while driving 90 miles an hour. I'll take the soccer moms.

Maybe hamburger can verify this, but I believe most fatal accidents are caused by men. Women tend to have the fender benders. Agressiveness is the real killer.

I have absolutely no idea, why I post this response here

Quote:
Men who get married are less likely to be criminals than those who don't, according to research from the University of Maryland. Professor John Laub said of the men in the study: "I think that the marriage was significant in a number of ways, I think part of it was for many of these men who grew up in sorely disadvantaged backgrounds this was the first time in their life that they had someone that they were strongly attached and emotionally bonded to, and so they had social support as a result of the marriage. But in addition the wives played a key role in monitoring these guys behaviour."

For new drivers in my Province, the insurance for boys is double the cost it is for girls. I can also say that far too often since I've lived here I've been almost driven off the road I can't count the times by men who were not paying attention. Either they're on a cell phone, looking at the person beside them, checking out some hot chick, or just looking at everything except the road. Not once in all these times that this has happened did I ever see a woman behind the wheel. In fact, it wasn't even young boys behind the wheel either. These were all middle aged men who don't see the importance of keeping their eyes on the road and it truly pisses me off that these idiots are constantly putting peoples lives in danger.

Good place to be when you're on a bike. Actually ever since I got it I've come to think of ALL drivers as "those f**kwits on 4 wheels"!

"Men who get married are less likely to be criminals than those who don't " ... i think walter is no longer with us ! or he would know that we married guys are under strict supervision and that our priviliges can be revoked at a moment's notice - and no appeal to the supreme court is possible ! just kidding, of course. i posted recently under another thread the instructions young mrs. h received from my mother before we left for canada. i was to be kept under strict surveillance ! it's worked ! hbg

Heard a statistic on the radio one day, to the effect that women are five times as likely to have an accident as men, and that men are ten times as likely to be involved in a fatal accident as women.

Damned wimmins runnin' 'em off the road, i'm sure.

I remember one time years ago, I was driving, I looked over at her, and she had the map upside down with South at the top. Asked why, she said it was because we were going South. I just about lost it.

Aren't you beig a bit harsh, here? I'm with your wife on this one. It's perfectly sensible to look South on the map when you're driving South. Then, the LEFT and RIGHT turns/ features are on their correct, natural, side and you don't have to reverse them in your head.

Okay, most people can do the necessary "reversing in the head" without thinking about it: but I have often seen people take a plan on site and align it to the site features, so they could more easily visualise what was going on.

Don't let him laugh at you, Mrs cjh! Smile

Yup, McTag, I'm with you too! I'm told that I'm a good mapreader, and nobody has questioned my methods so far!

My wife can read upside down. And she can see round corners, and has eyes in the back of her head.

But, I'll give you this, she can make very dumb navigational errors. But, she's much better at packing the boot (trunk) than I am, when there's a lot of stuff to fit in.

And, she is a good driver. Although, she did ram a stationary stump in a carpark once, hard, and remodelled the front of the car. Smile
