I suspect, considering posology is the study of doses, that it means body weight, i.e. a dose of 2grams for each 10 kilograms of body weight of the sick lamb or calf or whatever.

Thanks. In addition, if one looks at a list of abbreviations, it makes more sense than the others for which b.w. or BW is used. It is probably not, for example, Business Week, Botswana, Bandwidth, Biological Warfare, Black & White, or Barbed Wire.
