@OmSigDAVID,
Yeah, I hate that when they only pressurize the left side or the right side.

@OmSigDAVID,
This is the movie character that I see you as, David.

I am only joking. If it is in bad taste, I hope that no one sends a prayer group to my house to reform me.

I know exactly what he’d tell you, lies. He was no different from any other officer in the ward room, they were all disloyal. I tried to run the ship properly, by the book, but they fought me at every turn. The crew wanted to walk around with their shirt tails hanging out, that’s all right, let them. Take the tow line, defective equipment, no more, no less. But they encouraged the crew to go around scoffing at me, and spreading wild rumors about steaming in circles and then old yellow strain. I was to blame for Lt. Maryk’s incompetence and poor seamanship. Lt. Maryk was the perfect officer, but not Captain Queeg. Ah, but the strawberries, that’s, that’s where I had them, they laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with geometric logic, that a duplicate key to the ward room icebox did exist, and I’ve had produced that key if they hadn’t pulled the Caine out of action. I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officer. … Naturally, I can only cover these things from memory. If I left anything out, why, just ask me specific questions and I’ll be glad to answer them, one by one.

No; I never acted like Capt. Queeg.
I chose a hedonic filosofy when I was a kid in high school.
I adopted Jeremy Bentham, on an eclectic basis
(in company with Adam Smith and John Locke, inter alia).
I embraced a hedonic filosofy in my founding of the Opulent Mensan SIG.

Accordingly, when I have held positions of authority,
in government, or in my own law firm, I made a point
of being as polite n kind hearted as possible
,
consistent with getting the job done.
I wanted my people to be as happy as possible (within reason).

That is DISTINCT from fighting,
in any sense, including defense from predators,
or championing my clients' well being in court.
When fighting: "there is no substitute for victory."

P.S.:
I have never sent a prayer group.

More likely handguns, particularly: revolvers.
Some years ago, when my friend, Donald, got married,
I gave him and his bride a honeymoon in a Peach Suite
in the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas, as a wedding present.
I was going there anyway. (Thay loved the suite, until thay saw MINE.)

Don took quite a lot of pictures, including pictures of us
at a gunnery range, holding multiple revolvers,
working out with a lot of pistols, rifles, and submachineguns,
including his bride (who had not expected that).
We "rented the case" (display case) including all guns,
so that we just pay for the ammunition. It was photographic fun.

Actually I do resemble Gen Grant, except I have one of those mandrake goatees. I am friendlier than Grant and waaay smartyer, he was pretty much a dimwit except for one thing.

Im saying that COWDOC is in his low 50's and is a bit on the burly side with strong arms (Just a guess because hes a large animal vet) I think he looks like a larger version of Harvey Keitel with cowboy boots on

You have just created an image that no one can picture. I know that you do paintings. Are they abstract art? Smile

@wandeljw,
I think of Cowdoc as slightly older than you do, with grey or grey white hair. Probably not thin as a rail. I know from Abq a2kers, Dys and Diane, that he and Mrs. Cowdoc are good people..

@ossobuco,
Cowdoc and Mrs. Cowdoc have actually been to Chicago and were entertained by JPB. Unfortunately, I was unable to join.
