Just on the off-shoot chance that one of George Dubya's speech writers happens to be looking in on A2K looking for some tips on what to have Dubya say in his State of the Union message...

After you write the speech, why not give it to the president and let him read it over once or twice.
Then he won't be seeing it for the first time when he reads it.
You have no idea of how stupid you make him look doing it the way you are right now -- springing it on him just as he walks up to the podium.
Jeez, you would think you folks would think of this on your own!
and nothing bigger or more complicated than mayonnaise in the text please.
and cut out all the foreign-sounding words, too.
I agree. He has enough trouble reading and needs the time to rehearse.
